The day has come where East Boston is on the rise and is going to be the next trendy area in the city of Boston. Many developers are choosing the highlight East Boston’s awesome amenities, such as waterfront views, the Blue Line into the city, lots of green space, and quiet neighborhoods. There are nearly 850+ units under construction and almost 1000 approved getting ready to break ground in this area. If you are currently a resident of East Boston, get ready for your home to appreciate in value greatly in the coming years.
So, what exactly is in the works in this diverse little area of Boston? Let’s take a look at some notable projects:
The Mark at DeNormandie Wharf
107 condo residences with 7 designated affordable are to be constructed under The Davis Companies. This building is set to be waterfront and is located a couple blocks away from Maverick Square T station. With an underground garage, 80 parking spots will be available to residents, as well as 147 bike spots. Some amenities included in this lifestyle is the 5000 SF private waterfront courtyard with a fitness, grilling, and lounge area. A concierge on duty 24/7, a billiards lounge, a library, a golf simulator, and retail space are also included. Need I say more? Completion date for this project is Q4 2020.

11-19 Walley St
Right next door to the Suffolk Downs Blue Line stop you will find the future 11-19 Walley apartment building home 38 apartments. Twelve 1-bedrooms, eight 2-bedrooms, and fifteen 3-bedrooms is the plan, making this building diverse in regards to everyone’s tenancy. Amenities include a top-floor fitness center, a common room, an accessible roof deck, and 25 parking spaces on-site.

Clippership Wharf
Possibly one of the most notable current projects to appear in East Boston: Clippership Wharf (see other article on this for more details J). Four total buildings plan to bring 478 total residential units to the area. These buildings will be right on the water with beautiful views of downtown Boston and upwards of 30,000 square feet of retail and community space. Oversized windows, chef-level kitchens, restaurants on-site, recreation centers, and new public art on the Harborwalk are only a handful of the benefits of residing in Clippership Wharf.

Now, I only listed THREE of the hundreds of projects being planned and developed in East Boston. If you ask me, those three are pretty promising when discussing the direction East Boston is heading.
