Developers Peebles Corporation are in the Letter of Intent phase of constructing 432,000 SF multi-use building above the Mass Turnpike in southern Downtown Boston. The building, now known as The Viola, will include residences, a boutique hotel, and an entrance to a new MBTA station. Construction costs will reach the $300 millions.
The unique design, done by Handel Architects LLP, is meant to integrate with the neighborhood’s historical facades on Newberry Street. There is a linear plaza that transits flawlessly between Fenway and Back Bay in this gateway location.
